Well, I didn't throw up this time.

I totally gave in. I don't wanna hear any crap from anyone, I do what I want! Ha ha! Yeah... Josh and I made up. And I just so happen to have a new shiny bracelet now.... :) At least I am one of the few women on the planet who hates diamonds and jewels (unless they are in treasure form, under the sea, in a pirate chest, that I find while snorkeling) and he can get away with buying me sterling silver stuff. So, we hashed it out the other night. By "hash it out" I mean, he apologized and I cried. He is the only guy I have met that I can't go absolutely crazy on and scream and yell and act like a crazy person at. I try to be so angry and I have all this stuff to yell at him about and then it's just like... "oh ok, you're sorry? I guess thats cool." He can't even believe how calm I am. He said "I really thought you were gonna take me out to the parking lot and kick my ass." So it's ok again. I told him that I am leaving in the spring and he was like "oh yeah austin would be a cool place to live." I'm like uh oh. That is like forever away and knowing him, and knowing me, something will come up, he will dissappear, I will do something crazy, or something will inevitably happen between now and then to change our plans. I am still coming home, no matter what.

Work was long. 48 locals on the boat. We didn't make much money. I'm ready for a change. I am always ready for a change. I will stick it out till something else comes along. I got really sunburnt today for some reason! I never burn like this, strange. Well, I am very tired, so I am hitting the shower and hitting the sack. Ok have a good night!

It's been a while.

I have been busy with work and stuff, sorry I have left yall in the dark for a while! The week my family spent with me here in St. Thomas was amazing! We had such an awesome time. We rented Jeeps and visited 6 islands! Now it's back to the grindstone around here, work work work. Our newest crew member Sarah is only here for the summer but she is really great, we went out last night to grab some dinner in Red Hook then she wanted to see the other side of the island so we taxi'd over to Havensight and went to Offshore Bar. Things were going fine, I was feeling a little funny like maybe I ate something that was not quite right, but we shared a pizza at dinner so I thought nothing of it. We were chilling on a couch at offshore talking to this guy named Derek who owns the sailboat "Irie", having a lovely time when the door opens and guess who walks in... JOSH. I have never felt anything like what I felt when he walked in, like I was furious but I didn't want to let him see I even saw him, so I'm trying to hold a conversation with Derek all the while trying to ignore/look at Josh because I am just flabbergasted! Derek says, "uh, is everything ok?" I'm like, no sorry and I tell Sarah that's Josh and she blurts out "JOSH?!" really loud, I am mortified. I didn't even want him to know I saw him. I totally felt like punching him in the face and trowing up and crying and stomping around like a crazy person but instead I just went into the bathroom and threw up. I have never done that. It must have been the pizza and the drinks (i only had 3) and the emotions but man I fuckin barfed. I was kind of relieved. So I called a cab and went home. I set Sarah up with my friend Ryan who took her home on his way back to Red Hook. It was an interesting night. I tell ya, I've said it before and I need to start doing it, "I'm never leaving the house again." Unless it's to go to work of course. Oh and Sarah and I went out on Adventurer which is a sailboat like the Fury I worked on in KW, and we had a great time, but we realized that we are underpaid, and we work way harder for less money. Damn, we shouldn't have gone out there. Also I got an offer to bartend at the Mafolie restruant so I may do that a couple of nights a week. Just to mix it up. I know I'm forgetting something but I don't know what.

Ya see, I live on top of an old volcano.

And if this thing blows, I'm gonna go out rocking. I have turned up the Guns N Roses to 11 and I am dancing around like a pole dancer, cuz that's the only way you can dance to Axl. I love Axl.

I KNEW IT!

Yesterday as I was sitting on my futon watching tv, I thought for sure I felt my floor shake, being as how I am close to the airport I thought it might me jet engines or something, but I was like "man that was wierd." Today I downloaded this app for my mac called "Tremor Skimmer" and It tells you all the earthquakes all over the world at any given moment, I decided to check yesterday's and this is what I found....

As Mel Fisher once said... TODAY IS THE DAY!

Mel Fisher found the treasure of the Atocha... I get to see my family!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAY! I have dispersed my gifts and trinkets to make their stay a little more comfortable, some locally made soaps which are lovely, some local beers which are tasty, some bottled water so they don't have to drink our crap water, it comes out of the tap hot as hell anyway, some glade fresh linen scented candles because you know you should always take a candle with you to a hotel, some local coffee in flavors : Mocha Jumbie and Rhumba Creme, (Maria you would love Rhumba Creme, it smells like Bailey's!) some coozies to keep their beer frosty, piratey luggage tags that say "Time flies when ye arrrr having rum", some USVI stickers for their cars back home, a tostonera for my mom, (it makes tostones out of plantains) and some assorted local herbal teas. WHEW! I still have to carry a case of water up 4 flights of stairs. I am taking a lunch break. And a music break. I am listening to Four Horsemen again, I am on a kick I guess. OH boy I am so excited! I just cant wait till 3:30 when my taxi man Vince picks me up on the way to the airport! Where am I gonna take Michael and Di for dinner??? Oh my! I may just keep them in French Town and go to Betsy's bar for dinner. Then I have to go back to the airport at 7:30 to get my mom and aunt! Then its pool party time!

TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!

My family will be here beginning at 4pm! Woo hoooooo! It's gonna be great! I have arranged for my taxi man Vince from Dominica to pick them up at the airport. It's going to be so much fun!!! Today I am washing clothes, cleaning my apartment and doing some last minute shopping before their arrival. I need to head to the market this evening to pick up some bottled water and a few munchies for their rooms. 24 hours to go! I think I will go hang by the pool for a couple of hours, though I am watching the History channel at the moment and there is this show on about the Freemasons and the Knights Templar and all that crazy stuff, I am so into it. They know where my treasure is... What a sneaky crazy weird scary group. Oh secret society, what will you guys come up with next? Actually I think I will turn it off and listen to my ipod, I bought a CD from a local band called the Four Horsemen, they are so good! I'm gonna take my fam to see them play on Tuesday for my Uncle Michael's birthday. Click HERE to go to their site and hear their music!!!!

What a Day!

My capt. Clement went out of town for a funeral so an Ex capt Sarah came to drive. This lady is craaaaaaaazy! So much fun! Oh my gosh. And we trained a new girl who said to me " when can i work again, i can work every day" and im like "you will my child... oh you will...." She will be working for me this week while my family is in town. Worked out great. Last night the power went out at 3am, the second night I have my ac back and the power goes out. Assholes. Anyway, its back on now, but I am so tired. I am gonna have some cocktails by my self and make some tuna sandwiches. yep. Cuz my bestest friend Meg here in the islands decided to post the pictures of my going away party when I left for Australia. When Josh wasn't MIA, or a big jerk. So now Im pissed off. And sad because I was so happy with him. Thank god there is something to look forward to in Texas, and besides that after I move home to TX Maria will go back to Mex and I will visit her! Everything is going to be amazing. Just wait and see.

I love my new A/C!

It is 76 degrees! And for the first time in a month or so I used a blanket! Before this I was using a wet sarong to cover up with so when the fan hit it it cooled me down. Now its time to jump in the pool! yay! 2 MORE DAYS TILL THE FAMILY GETS HERE! AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

To drink a warm martini

is to have balls much larger than your ordnary woman.
Guess I do.

Cus this thing is about 87 degrees. And now I have heartburn. where's the mustard? Woody taught me that the natural cure for heartburn is to swig down a teaspoon of american mustard. Guess what... it works. I love mexican medicine. Mezcal... tequila...peyote... sign me up from now on...

oh

11:44pm

80 degrees F. Matt is texting me... awwwww... cute.

So happy.

An old un kindled flame re kindles in the blink of an eye.

This is Matt. He worked with me at Chili's in Mckinney in 2007 or 2006 I can't remember when. Anyway we always had so much fun talking about music and he is a Drummer. Well he had a girlfriend when I met him who also worked at Chili's... I hated them together. I always though she was bad for him and a bad influence and that of course he would be better off with me. Well turns out things got bad and worse with those two and we lost Matt for a while. I kept in touch with Matt's parents to see if he was ok and he eventually ended up in the San Antonio area and has since moved away from the crazy girl and lives in Austin, has re started his band with his best friend and they are going to start playing gigs in the fall. Well we keep in touch and I always felt a good vibe between us and we have been talking alot on Facebook and Myspace and tonight I decided after he wrote me that he missed me, that I would spill the beans about my crush on him. To my complete surprise he said he felt the same and always thought we had a great chemistry. Now I have emailed him and said "STAY AWAY FROM ALL FEMALES TILL I GET HOME IN THE SPRING" good luck kiddo. Either way its so nice. Matt is really awesome. Tall dark and handsome. Has tattoos but not all over his body, Has a college degeree! I sure hope he doesn't read this and think im crazy.... Anyway. All I know is I am looking forward to Texas even more now.... :)))))))

10:45pm

81 degrees F.

Time and temp in Jolea's cabana...

the time is 9:57pm, the temp is 83 degrees F.

Its a miriacle!!!

Doug (dough) just put my new AC unit in! We checked the temp before installing it and it was 89 degrees in my room. Its now 84. I cant wait to see how low it goes. I may not even need to put ice in my martini glass if it gets cold enough. Love it! I cant wait to hang out in my room with my mom and my aunt and watch some TV and stuff. It's gonna be great. Doug also brought me the can of brown paint so I can paint my tree on my wall. Yay!

Today...

I spent some time in the pool, then went to the mall, bought Hope Floats, Crazy in Alabama and some new headphones, and then went down to the market because the only thing in my fridge was coolaid and condiments. I also picked up a HUGE bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin for only 13 bucks. I swear I am gonna miss the price of booze here. You can buy a bottle of Cruzan rum for 6 bucks. I just so happened to pick up a big jar of spanish olives at the market so I made myself a nice big dirty martini and watched two episodes of sex and the city. NOw I am watching this new show Wipeout. Its so freakin funny. Its a copy of Most Extreme Elimination Challenge on Spike TV which is way funnier but seeing as how I dont have Spike TV I have to settle for this. I am sweating my ass off. Still no A/C. I am so excited about my family coming on Saturday! I have tomorrow off too, because my boat is sick. Yeah I don't know. Can I just say how awesome it is to get a fresh half gal of milk??? Well it is!!! Its even American milk! Usually we get Puerto Rican or re constituted milk, which I don't drink. This stuff is the best! So my plan for the evening is to chill with my martini's and watch Crazy in Alabama, followed by Hope Floats, with Thelma and Louise to round off the night. Not going out anymore as I seem to meet the salt of the earth when I do. Speaking of meeting new people, there is a new guy in the hood. He lives next door to me in the next house down. Cute from afar, but could end up being a Monet. You know, looks good from far away but when you get up close its just a big mess. Anyway he was standing in the doorway like this but he didn't have a shirt on. I was on my way to town with my ipod blaring so by the time I noticed he said hello I was trying to scope him out secretely so when I glanced over he was looking at me like "hellooooo? rude." So all I could do was wave kinda, like a half wave like not even lifting my hand up past my waist. I am such a DORK!!!! I saw him again this evening on my way home from town, I walk past his door to get to mine and he opened his door and left it open so when I walked by I would say hi or something but I totally kept on walking. Whatever. I am seriously a big dork. I love it. I love my life!

OH! DAY OFF!

IM GOING POOLSIDE ALL DAY! No one can stop me. POOLSIDE I SAY! Poolside. All. Day. ONLY 3 MORE DAYS TILL MY FAMILY GETS HERE!!!!!

Monday, July 7, 2008

Oh wow.

So this afternoon Alex Akim and I went to Ashley's bar to have dinner, after dinner Sebastian met me at the bar and said he would drive me home. On the way we stopped at Betsy's which is just around the corner from my house, Sebastian gets tired and goes home, leaves me with these tattooed guys, whom I start chatting with. I am admiring his tat's when I realize he has the same tat I have, an old pirate rum jug, its on his hand plain as day. I take out a pen and draw how my tat is different than his. because of the aunt nasty homage. I comment on a tattoo on his neck of an outer space looking bomber thingy with stars around it like MArvin the Martian and all. Well long story short, he wanted me to come back to Hull bay with him and I wouldn't. now im home thank god, turns out he is in the Hells Angels. There is nothing wrong with them and i would love to be involved in their charity work.

Things I can't wait to do when I go home to Texas...

1. See my family and friends.
2. Wear my boots.
3. Buy a new pair of boots.
4. Eat at Taco Cabana with my Mom and drink a corona on the patio.
5. Go dancing in Ft. Worth
6. Sit on the deck in the evening while grilling out.
7. Sit on the bank of the Guadalupe for a little while.
8. Go shopping at Cavender's.
9. Drive all day long.
10. Frolic in the bluebonnets.

I will think of more. For the next 8 months my theme song will be: When the Bluebonnets Bloom by Robert Earl Keen Jr.

When The Bluebonnets Bloom

On a cold winter night, neath the silvery moon
I wished on a star, had a dream about you

Dry the tears in your eyes, I'll be coming home soon
Neath the wide open skies, where the blue bonnets bloom

Like a blanket spreading out as far as I can see
When those flowers line the road
You can look for me
I'll be hanging round the back roads like an old familiar tune
I'll be there when the bluebonnets bloom

Some people get goin to the top of the world
I'd rather be home with my bluebonnet girl
Cuz she's needing me, like a bride needs a groom
I'll be making her mine, when the bluebonnets bloom

Like a blanket spreading out as far as I can see
When those flowers line the road
You can look for me
I'll be hanging round the back roads like an old familiar tune
I'll be there when the bluebonnets
I'll be comin home you can bet on it
I'll be there when the bluebonnets bloom!

Oh I wish I could move back to Texas today!

I found my perfect place to live! Its in SMITHVILLE! Where they filmed one of my favorite movies, Hope Floats. Its a loft in the tallest building in Bastrop county! So cheap, but where the hell would I work in Smithville???
