What a day.
The crew and I just got some bad news. Apparently our services are no longer needed. Yep. Just like that. Either I find a yacht here in Seattle, or I will be back home on Thursday. Damn. Hopefully I will get on one here. Whew.... Son of a bitch. I have had some shitty luck when it comes to jobs the past year. Should I just call it quits? Fuck.

Let's hope you find something there... Do you really want to come back here to take up bar tending again? I didn't think so.
ReplyDeleteDad said,"I guess even the big dogs are having to down size." When you live like they do all you pay of your loans is the interest.. so maybe the banks are calling them in, and he has to liquidate.
ReplyDeleteno. i dont. im just discouraged. ugh.
ReplyDeleteOh bummer! I'm so sorry to hear that. I had hoped you would be motoring in to La Paz sometime during the winter...
ReplyDeleteNo Way!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is terrible.
But hey, you'll be fine.
Things will work out fine.
But blimey, that must have been a shock!
UH YEAH! I was like, gee thanks for giving us a whole day and a half to pack or make arrangements. shit.
ReplyDeleteI fink what your dad says is right though.
ReplyDeleteAt least you are in right neck of woods to find other work. You could even bartend up there until you got some better contacts.
Damn. So they want you to leave. Just.Like.That?
ReplyDeleteThat isn't right. What if you don't have the money to leave yet etc etc
No right at all.
What reason did they give?
I never liked their boat anyway. Too small.
ReplyDelete;)
the owner decided to sell it. you dont need crew on a boat that no one plays on. the crew of another yacht in the yard offered me and the chef a place to stay for a while if we need more time to get our shit together. so nice of them. hopefully we get jobs together on S.O.C., another yacht in the yard. my friend works on that one. fingers crossed. otherwise I will just have to go home and figure it out.
ReplyDeleteThe Baja ha is leaving here (San Diego) the end of the month. They have crew party's to get folks together. Not real sure of pay and all. I'll check out the local crew list here. You don't need a fuzzy hat to go out here.
ReplyDeletehahahaah thanks Markitos! Keep me in the loop.
ReplyDeleteEverything happens for a reason, if you got pissed at the capt. and cat scratched her eyes out I'm sure you had a good reason....
ReplyDeleteNo, really, it will all work out for the best.
No pay on the Baja Ha Ha. Just friends helping each other out. Will keep our eyeballs peeled for those megas lacking in babe crew...
ReplyDelete:)
i should have scratched her eyes out the way she was talking to me.... there is obviously more to the story, but i dont wanna talk about it on here. i got in trouble after she laid us off, for telling my friends at the yard i got laid off... it makes no sense....
ReplyDeleteIf she didn't want you out looking for another job (by telling people you were laid off) then she shouldn't have laid you off. You need to get two checks tomorrow. She is supposed to be prepared to cut you a check the minute she gives you the boot. Did you get your mail? I sent it in care of her!!!
ReplyDeleteno. did you send it to the apt. or the yard?
ReplyDeleteto the yard... the address with her name on it at the marina. the voided check is in it.
ReplyDeletewell it doesnt matter now!!! haha. damn. what a mess. im sorry you spent money to send that mom. I will probably see you thursday. my flight gets in at 7:55pm, DFW.
ReplyDeleteAwww. This is so sad. I am sorry this happened.
ReplyDeleteCan you go back to the USVI?
ive got something lined up on the east coast i think... everything happens for a reason, i should know that... i came here and met some really awesome people... learned a little, realized a few things, and now that it is coming to a close so quickly, maybe i should just go home, i would be there for jessica's wedding on friday, like i told her i would ages ago, and i can just chill at the house for a week while i get another job set up.
ReplyDeletei dont want to go back to the usvi like that, im tired of not making any money, im gonna stick with the big boats and hope for the best. its all i can do now.
Yeah, everything happens for a reason, and just so happens, the house needs a good cleaning. You can liquidate some things. Oh and while you're here you can vote!
ReplyDeleteHey and you could win a cheese board with this post....
...with wire cutter.......
ReplyDelete;)
I think you should "de-detail" that fancy marble and mirror head. Put it back to the way it was before you spent all day with a gallon of vinegar in there. Some smudges. Some mystery goo on the mirror. A hank of hair in the corner. You know. Like my boat.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaaaaaa! That's a great Idea!!! Butt prints on the marble counter top! hehehe..... Nah, im never stepping foot on that boat ever again! I think it's cursed! It's had like 5 different names/owners! You know it's bad luck to change the name if you don't have a proper ceremony! And i saw no ceremony day before yesterday when that lady stuck the name on the back... That's exactly what happened!!! Oh my gosh it all makes perfect sense!! They didn't do a ceremony and the very next day the shit hit the fan!!!!
