The storm has passed...
And it was a lovely one. We didn't lose power at all, just some thunder and lightening and a lot of rain. It's good for the area to get a good soaking every once in a while! I can't sleep because I am stressed. Haven't been sleeping well for a couple of weeks actually. I stay up late looking for crew agencies that I haven't found yet. As if there was one. I swear I am a member of every crew agency out there. Even some that I am pretty sure are just crabby old salts lookin for love in all the wrong places. Who knows, I may get that desperate. I am going to look for a part time job here close to the house to keep me busy while I wait for another yacht job to come around. It's the one thing that I never ever ever ever wanted to have to do. Get a job in my home town. I used to feel so sorry for the ex-cheerleaders that ended up working at the Sonic for like five years after we graduated and then got knocked up by some other guy who never got the hell out of this town and ended up never seeing anything but north Texas. Not that there is anything wrong with that... Ahem. I really don't want anyone from High School to see me here in town. I hate seeing people I went to school with. I think it's because they never understand what I do for work and walk off thinking I am a maid on a Carnival Cruise Ship. I'm not. I am awesome! I have had some awesome jobs and seen awesome things but they are so fucking confused when I say I worked on a yacht in the Virgin Islands, I can't even begin to explain what that means before they say "Oh laaiiike a cruuuze shiap?" (did you get that hick accent?) Then it's all I can do to roll my eyes and tell them with a fake smile "no, like a luxury yacht owned by one billionaire. i get paid a lot of money." But now, now that I have decided to take a job while I wait for my badass job to come back, if someone asks me what I have been up to, they probably wont believe me when I say that. They will say "why are you working at the resale shop then?" and I will say, "WHY ARE YOU SHOPPING IN ONE HOE GET OUTTAMYFACE!!!" Oh man. This is a mean nasty blog and I will delete it right after posting it. But I'm gonna do it anyway.

Don't fret. Something will turn up soon. You haven't been back for that long and things happen for a reason so you are meant to be where you are right now, just like I'm meant to be where I am right now.
ReplyDeleteIt will all work out in the end.
Why not get a waiting job? Those are great jobs with the tips and the time goes quickly. Much better than shop work.
Because I will have to wait on people who I went to high school with... there is nothing more humiliating.
ReplyDeletep.s. thanks for the nice words! I know everything happens for a reason. It does. I know that for sure.
ReplyDeleteLOL Love the Bitch On Board.
ReplyDeleteAh fuck em. It doesn't matter what you do, as long as you enjoy it. You're not the one stuck in a rut. You are just waiting out some doldrums.
ReplyDeleteyarrrrrrrr the doldrums! i hates them say aye! nothin i hate more than a doldrum except fer a maelstrom!
ReplyDeletehaha @ bitch on board, im gonna start posting that in front of all my bitchy posts as a warning to all who enter here... beyond this point, there be dragons. or just one dragon lady.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying your stay... the bathroom looks fantastic. Having the little job will make the day go by quicker. And you shouldn't see any of your old school buds in the resale shop... they send their moms there to shop for them. Snidely bitches. Besides they are ALL jealous that you have the ability to get the hell out of this hell hole without having to get married or pregnant.
ReplyDeleteHa ha - once when I was about 29 or 30 took a part time job during Christmas at (get this) Toys R Us. I was working in their accouting dept, but had to work the counter when I was done. Uh yeah, pretty humiliating when I would see people I knew.
ReplyDeleteJust carry a pic of the Maltese Falcon around with you and tell them you "just had to take a break from the endless tropical islands, the endless island boys, the endless cocktail parties and soirees (did I spell that right?) and were going back soon".
I love a soiree....
ReplyDeleteAnd yes mom I am enjoying my stay too, I just don't have any money and when you don't make any it sure disappears fast...
I have to hop in the shower now, gonna ride my bike to the ACO. I used to volunteer there when I was in high school so it's not like I don't know what I am doing...
I just realized I volunteered... weird... and I don't even think I was forced to by the court that time...
no you were doing 4-H work back then... your court appointed (curfew violation) you had to be a parking lot attendant in a vacant lot. Teee heee that's so funny.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! I had a curfew violation too! And my mom told the officer lady counselor bitch that had there been curfew violations in her day, she would have set the record!!! And then grabbed my arm and drug me out of the meeting. Keep in mind, my mom is 39 years older than me. She would have been about 54 at the time. Waaaay cool mom or what?!!
ReplyDeletehahaha! my mom let me swing man. it was such a stupid big deal though, like we had to go to COURT with a JUDGE! She fined us and sentenced us to like 20 hours community service. All for sitting on a tailgate in the Kroger parking lot. Come to think of it the girl I got in trouble with is the same damn one that nearly gets me in trouble all the damn time nowadays too!!! I need to reevaluate my friend list...
