Um.

So, It's now taken over 30 mins to cook the squash... still not done...

    Be patient.
    There's nothing worse than undercooked squash.
    It just doesn't mash properly.
    The same can be said for pumpkin.
    I steam mine and wait for the skin to just fall off but have been known to be impatient too and when that happens it's just not the same.

    haha! now we are up to 45-50 mins... i just realized it's probably like baking a potato.
