On the RARE occasion Dad had to make lunch for me and my brother when we were little, this was always what he made. Grilled cheese sandwich, a pickle spear and an oreo. Haha! It's like my favorite lunch! It was delicious.

Sometimes I live and work on Luxury Mega Yachts, sometimes I get dirty and salty working on Schooners. Spent last few years flip flopping between Key West, St. Thomas, Australia and New England. This blog is just my random ramblings and everyday occurrences. Island life at it's best...and worst!
I always think of your dad when I see pickle spears.
ReplyDeleteHe he he he.
That lunch is a classic.
GHERKINS ALL ROUND!
ReplyDeleteI love your family.
ReplyDeleteAnd now the story of the one and only time my Dad made me lunch. I was about 6 or 7. He made me what he would have eaten.
Liverwurst sandwich.
Needless to say, I went hungry that day. Poor Dad ~ he had no clue that a 6 or 7 year old little girl doesn't eat that stuff.
Enjoy your Daddy - I miss mine. ;)
P.S. But my Dad would have given me 3 oreos instead of 1. And probably more pickles too.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Well rounded lunch, probably why me and my brother aren't big fatasses, our family never let us sit in front of a video game with a bag of oreos and potato chips...
ReplyDeleteI eat more pickles than anyone except my uncle michael and doyle probably. I even drink pickle juice... every day.
i love pickles.
Truth Time.... Jolea and brother only got one Oreo, because that left more for Dad.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad... the Saint that he was would feed us Chocolate Burritos for lunch!!! A flour tortilla filled with a concoction of cocoa, sugar and butter. It was really good, everyone wanted to eat at our house.
Ha ha Judith.
ReplyDeleteHehehhehheheheheh.
e.
That's not quite as delicious looking as the stuff you make. ;)
ReplyDeletewell i can tell you one thing... it tastes better than anything i have made this week....
ReplyDeleteWell you little youngen (that's my new fav word) they didn't have video games during my childhood, so I couldn't sit in front of one and eat oreos. And my Mom bought Hydrox instead of oreos anyway. So even if they did have video games way the hell back in my childhood, I still couldn't have sat in front of one and ate oreos.
ReplyDelete(on a scary little side note, you are young enough to be my daughter)!
OH NO HEATHER! I wasnt implying that you sat around in front of the tv eating oreos!!! hahahah! meant that's why kids are fat these days. their parents let them do that. its terrible. they never go outside and play. its like punishment for them. hell, it was punishment for us to have to stay INSIDE when i was little. we wanted to be out running and playing and getting into trouble.
ReplyDeleteI'll be having the Taco Soup again today, I took some for lunch yesterday and my friend thought it was fantastic.
